@@@ Pangea: Badillac (Harvest Records, 2014). I thought we were in for a funky white boy party tune with a tune entitled Badillac, but it’s an uptempo guitar indie track. I think it might be more entertaining to wonder what a Badillac is than to comment on the tune. I saw one search result saying it’s a souped up pimped out Cadillac, but that’s about it and I don’t get any kind of car vibes or feelings off this tune. Maybe it’s some sort or urban legend sexual preference involving duct tape and a chicken? No, that would be a Cluck De Ville. Oh, bad joke, I apologize. Shameful, but this is my blog.

@@@ Peter Charles: Between the Black Keys (Peter Charles, 2013). An adult alternative record I got to via an online PR service called MusicSubmit.com. Charles’ voice is beyond buttery and he’s committed to comfort food music. I can’t help but think that this guy owns all James Taylor’s records. This is not my style of music at all, but the guys is so completely into it that it starts to work for you. And I like the most bilious metal, so you can imagine if you actually like this genre…you might actually crap your pants when you hear this guy wrap his loving arms around yer broken heart. Check it out.
@@@ No Devotion: Eyeshadow (Collect Records, 2014). Opens up very reminiscent to that old school tune ‘Don’t you forget about me’ — I don’t remember who dropped that turd into the public space. Dance rock beats, U2-like textural guitar, and a low register loverboy vocalist. I’m not a huge fan of this style but folks are making a lot of it….so we hope that someone out there actually likes it and it’s not all a big mistake.
@@@ Alexander Hawkins: Summer Blood (Self-released, 2014). Multiple vocal harmonies over a mostly mainstream soft FM quirk rock arrangement. I got to this tune via a music publicist. Lots of pretty guitar strums and whatnots to go with all the singing. Very sweet tune without collapsing like a cheesy souffle.
