@@@ The Ugly Club: Passengers (Not sure, 2014).  Some mild whiteboy funk I got to via a music publicist.  Big Prince-y synth hook, and an alternately popping/melodic bass line with vocals a bit too high in the mix.  Lower vocals and mo drums if you want the funk, imho.

@@@ White Arrows: Nobody Cares (Votiv, 2014).  From the upcoming record In Bardo and I got to this via a music publicist.  More undercover funk here — minimalist bass line and beat and falsetto vocals.  It works all right — I like the vocal line Nobody cares, nobody fucking cares.  Some swirling syth action completes the the non-rock picture here.  Better than usual music PR fare.  The end of the tune doesn’t go the way I predicted and I like it a bit less.

@@@ Babes: ATMO (Harvest, 2014).  After an intro to the video that further blurs the line between the music business and the porn business, the tune is a reverbed out Breeders type thing without the edge of the Breeders.  It the Beach Boys had vaginas and were medium innuendo horny it would sound a bunch like these gals.  I got to this via a music publicist email.

You can stream it here.

@@@ Nervous Nellie: Skeletons (Not sure, 2014).  Some Swedish mainstream rock I got to via a music publicist email.  Thick pulsating synth bass is supposed to get you out on the dance floor and some faux white boy funk guitar designed for the same.  This is the work of skilled craftsmen, but I enjoy more unpredictable less clinical music.
